Refugee and internally displaced persons problems: psychologist’s and volunteer’s opinion

Modern wars of conquest continue to erupt. Wars lead to destructions, destructions lead to the problem of refugee and IDPs. Thousands of people leave their homes, works and their native land. What happens to refugees and IDPs after that? They lose understanding of safety, instead of thoughts about food or new purchases they should decide whether to stay and die or leave and survive.

It’s hard to understand refugees if you are not one of them. Psychologist and psychotherapist Alyona Sharaeva and Viktoria Burova (psychologist and volunteer of Psycho-Social Centre for Refugees and IDPs) told the International League of Peace how to help refugees, understand and support them.
